The first fiber optic network in the state

New Jersey cable companies wisely anticipated future demand and invested billions in the state to upgrade their networks to fiber optics. Cable's fiber optic upgrade has allowed them to pioneer other advanced services such as blazing fast high-speed Internet service; video on demand (VOD); digital video recorders (DVRs); digital voice service; and spectacular high definition television (HDTV). Cable's fiber optic network has been in place since the 1990s. Others are only now beginning to catch up.

First to offer residential high-speed Internet

New Jersey's cable companies were the first to offer New Jersey residents high-speed, broadband Internet access.

First "On-Time Guarantee" for installation and repair service

Cable was the first industry to offer its customers an on-time guarantee for service calls and installation appointments.

First to offer integrated educational products for the classroom

Cable in the Classroom, a project of cable companies and programming networks in the United States, uses cable content and technology to expand and enhance learning opportunities for school-age children nationwide.
