As use of the Internet has grown, so too have the challenges for parents who seek to create a safe and secure online environment for their children. NJCTA member companies, building on their long-standing commitment to addressing customer concerns about television and Internet content, are helping parents meet those challenges.
The cable industry is offering high-tech parental controls, customer awareness and education, and strategic partnerships with law enforcement. Here are just a few of the tools New Jersey's cable companies are offering their customers.
Cablevision's Internet Smarts
Cablevision's Power to Learn program includes an innovative curriculum called Internet Smarts. This signature initiative encourages parents and teachers to work with children to examine digital media issues. Internet Smarts provides a Family Resource Guide, interactive case studies, and an Internet Smarts certification program.
Comcast's Parental Controls
